Community Outreach

Every year Tepeyac puts together a community-wide Día de los Muertos altar as our community outreach project. We make an altar with food, veladoras, and Mexican retablos in our school’s Great Hall and invite the community to bring pictures of loved ones who have passed away to honor them on November 1st and 2nd. Through this altar we hope to better embody what it means to carry the name Tepeyac, the hill where the Virgen de Guadalupe appeared to Juan Diego, by creating a sacred space that promotes art as a means of creating community and connecting with our Catholic faith.
